Responding to Jesus

Throughout the scriptures there are over four hundred prophecies regarding Jesus, His birth, death, and purpose for coming. The scriptures above, Isaiah 9:6-7, tells us of His identity as Priest, King, and Eternal God. Often, in the busyness of our lives, we take these verses for granted and only think of them when we see them on Christmas cards, or they are taught on during the Christmas season. Our response and encouragement is to take time to celebrate Jesus this Christmas, who He and what He has done. Remember Jesus came to give and share with us the love of God for us. So remember the following:

You cannot patronize Him because nothing you can do will out do His love for you.

You cannot marginalize Him because He is the Lord of all creation.

You cannot rationalize Him away because He is the way, the truth, and the light. His truth is always before you.

You cannot ignore Him because His name is always in front of you.

You cannot trivialize Him because all of human history changes because of Him.

You cannot discount Him because the cross is an ever-present reality in our lives. Just look around you and see how many things form a cross to remind you of what He has done.

You cannot minimize Him because He is the everlasting Lord.

You cannot dismiss Jesus because He is Immanuel, God with us.

You cannot nullify Jesus because He has paid for your sin for all eternity.

You cannot codify Jesus because you can’t box Him in or limit Him.
